To elicit feedback from Principal Investigators, Administrators, and members of DTFs and DTF Work Groups regarding the Domain Task Force (DTF) structure.
Purpose: In order to elicit impressions of the Domain Task Force (DTF) structure from Principal Investigators, Administrators, and members of DTFs and DTF Work Groups, the NCATS CTSA Program Steering Committee Working Group on the Domain Task Forces (DTFs) administered a survey via CLIC. Results are meant to provide timely feedback in order to make changes to the DTFs to help enhance and improve operations.
Methods: A survey-specific listserv was created by combining PI, Administrator, DTF and DTF Work Group listservs. An invitation email with the online questionnaire link (REDCap) was sent directly to all emails in the combined listserv, followed by two automated reminder emails to non-responders. Data were collected between July 2 and July 16, 2018. Results will be posted as aggregate data onto the CLIC website and will not include any identifiable information.
Domains Assessed (presented in this report in order of overall responses first, followed by DTF specific items):
1) Descriptors: Role; DTF and DTF Work Group Membership
2) Section 3 of Survey: Overall DTF Structure
3) Section 2 of Survey: Individual DTF Satisfaction
4) Suggested Name Change
Results: From among the approximately 1,250 contacts in the email listserv, 275 completed the questionnaire for inclusion in this report. This response rate of at least 22% is a conservative estimate. Although the listserv was compiled from recently updated sources, a high proportion of emails were likely delivered but unseen during the survey’s time window (e.g., due, unsurprisingly, to many summer vacation absences), and there were unfiltered invalid / outdated email addresses (e.g., via respondent turnover at target institutions). If an error message (e.g., bad email) was returned, that potential respondent was removed from the next reminder email. Redundant respondent emails, as best determined via names plus email system domain names, were also eliminated.
