To examine how well the program goals were achieved.
The CTSA TL1 Visiting Scientist Program was designed to establish a set of symposia, debates, and grand rounds between “visiting” TL1 Scientists and their peers at different hubs. On November 9, 2021, the Debate Forum portion of this program took place. Following the Debate Forum, a unique REDCap survey link was sent to the participants. This was followed by two subsequent weekly reminders. At the conclusion of the online data collection, 6 responses were received from the total of 8 participants, for a final response rate of 75.0%. The evaluation examines how well the program goals were achieved. This report of the evaluation addresses overall satisfaction and any improvements that could be made to the program in the future.
All respondents (N=6, 100.0%) “Agreed” or “Strongly Agreed” that engaging with colleagues from another institution was valuable to their training. Similarly, all respondents (N=6, 100.0%) “Agreed or “Strongly Agreed” that participating in the debate increased their knowledge of the topic debated and provided professional/career training.
The survey included open-ended questions, for which attendees were asked to describe what they enjoyed about their experience, as well as recommendations for improvement. All comments are shown in the report.
