On March 5th, 2019 the Spring Career Professional Development for CTSA Workforce Meeting was held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM. On Monday, March 11th, an evaluation survey was sent to all 187 attendees. The survey was composed of both quantitative and qualitative questions pertaining to the 3 subsections of the meeting: Meeting Content, Meeting Logistics and the Overall Meeting. A total of 58 unique responses were cultivated from the survey for a 31% response rate, and each was analyzed individually.
With regard to meeting content, most participants agreed that the topics discussed were valuable, and that the meeting addressed their expectations. However, 39.3% of participants indicated that not enough time was allotted to networking. In addition, 25.5% of participants implied that they do not understand the steps necessary to move their group forward in 2019. In terms of meeting logistics, most participants were satisfied with the online registration process and CLIC on-site assistance. However, 26.2% of respondents implied that they were unsatisfied with their hotel experience.
Overall, the average rating of the meeting was an 8.12 out of 10, and the median was an 8. Qualitative data suggest that the most helpful aspects of the meeting were the table discussions, as well as sharing best practices through presentations and/or networking. Data also suggest that the agenda, location and duration of the meeting can be improved for the next meeting. Additional feedback reflects satisfaction with the meeting overall.
