Opportunities to Advance Research on Health Equity & Sustainability in Implementation Science

Rachel Shelton, ScD, MPH

Using examples from her community-engaged work on cancer screening, Rachel C. Shelton, ScD, MPH, associate professor of Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University, will examine opportunities to advance research on health equity and sustainability within the field of implementation science at this Equity-Focused Dissemination & Implementation webinar.

Shelton is also associate director of the Community Engagement Core Resource at the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, where she helps lead a new university-wide initiative on Implementation Science at Columbia. She is a social and behavioral scientist with 15 years of experience conducting mixed-methods research in both community-based and health system settings, focused on advancing the implementation and sustainability of evidence-based interventions in real-world community and clinical settings to address health inequities in cancer and other chronic diseases.
