The CTSA Visiting Scholar program consists of giving the virtual CTSA Grand Rounds lecture, which is open to the entire CTSA Consortium, and virtual meetings between KL2 Scholars and faculty at the host institution and their KL2 peers. There are two main goals of this program. The first is to offer the opportunity to serve as a visiting professor and help make connections with faculty that will remain beyond the visit. Secondly, this program will foster an exchange of ideas and collaboration among different hubs.
Mona Mashayekhi, MD, Ph.D., from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will present on the contribution of adipose tissue and systemic inflammation to cardiovascular diseases in obesity.
